That does not mean that they should not be discussed, but to argue incessantly without resolution? We can all agree on the fundamentals and allow God to convict each man as He God chooses, but for that to happen folks need to be discipled to the point where we can come to conclusions that are from God's Spirit and not someone's fancy theology.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22862995.post-82058032152649330482007-06-14T14:27:00.000-07:002007-06-14T14:27:00.000-07:00Excuse me, AW; this same kind of thinking is what ...Excuse me, AW; this same kind of thinking is what led to the Roman Catholic Church determining that the Bible should remain in the Latin language and should be interpreted only by those trained for the priesthood. It was thought that if it became available to the masses, they would all get confused and there would be chaos.

I think there is very little merit to that line of thinking, and thank God that He used Luther to put a stop to that. Just yesterday, I came across this quote by one Stanley Hauerwas, a Theologian at Duke Divinity School.

"No task is more important than for the Church to take the Bible out of the hands of individual Christians in North America".

I think he does have a point in a funny way. I guess we are coming full circle.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22862995.post-61483792300107505292007-06-14T12:51:00.000-07:002007-06-14T12:51:00.000-07:00Thanks for your practical insight, Calorius. Really, you guys are over my head on some of this predestination stuff.

Sometimes, I think that anything that is too complex to understand probably should not be taught outside of seminaries and academic christian circles.- AWAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
